This publication entailed following an individual donning a tartan skirt to protray this narrative of gender binaries and stereotypes in relation to skirt through a lens of tartan, almost investigating why the tartan pattern is a ‘grey area’ within the divide. A kilt, made up from tartan material, plays a huge role in the interplay of expression of gender identity, not carrying the same rigid gender conventions and expectations that comes with wearing any other kind of skirt in many western communities. Presented in a documentational form over a day period of images, brief captions and time stamps.
